A:
Service Release 1B for TM 8.0 and BM 8.0 is recommended for
all customers. Please contact our Tech Support at
800.496.3618 (Outside North America 919.467.1221) if you need additional
assistance
in making this decision.
Q: What
are the most common mistakes made regarding Service Releases.
A: There
are two: 1) not installing the Service Release to ALL computers that
are using
Time Matters on the network, and 2) not installing this Service Release
into the same directory (folder) where Time Matters 8.0/Billing Matters
8.0 was previously installed.
Q:
What
if a problem I reported is still not corrected in SR - 1B?
A: Not
every problem is as straight forward as a defect in the program code. Problems
can also be the result of one or more of the following:
- New
optional settings that may be effective for a new customer, but confusing
for an existing customer, causing an unexpected program behavior...
- Data
specific problems that only happen with certain data or settings...
- Computer
specific problems that only happen with specific combinations of
hardware or other applications...
- User
not yet understanding the new way something works...
- User
not agreeing with the approach to the new feature...
- The
Problem was reported too late to make this Release...
- We
were not able to reproduce the problem and need more information...
If
a problem remains, it may be the result of one or more of the above.
Please call our Tech Support and go over the remaining problem, or

It is likely there will be additional Service Releases available to
address items not in this Service Release.
Q:
What
if it's not a bug, but I want a particular feature improved?
A: While
each of these is considered on a case-by-case basis,
Service Releases typically do include improvements and refinements
in features, not just improvements and corrections. This provides
for more opportunities to get good ideas out to the customers.
