I have a Service Center account. Why do I need to sign up for a separate Store account?

I just purchased a Time Matters/PCLaw Annual Maintenance Plan. How will I get the latest version
of the software?
Your order will take up to 6 business hours to process. Once completed, your product keys and
download instructions for the latest version will be emailed to you. To ensure you receive all
communications regarding your order, please add this domain "@lexisnexis.com" to your address book.
If you have not received an email within 48 hours please check your Junk/Spam email folders.
How long will it take for the application to be shipped to me once I place my order?
While Time Matters was distributed on a CD through version 8.0 and PCLaw was distributed on CD
through version 6.0, subsequent versions of the software are downloadable. Once your order has been

to you (fees may apply).

I am no longer using all of the licenses I currently own. Can I renew my Annual Maintenance Plan
for fewer users than I am currently licensed?
Yes. You can enter the number of users you would like to cover in your Annual Maintenance Plan. However,
please note that the number of users you pay for in your annual maintenance plan will be entered into
our customer database which means that any future version upgrades or reactivations will be provided for
that number of users only. If you wish to decrease the number of users as described above, and then later
find you need additional users, you will need to purchase additional user licenses at the new customer
price. Also, customers must purchase the same number of user licenses for Time Matters and Billing
Matters if they have the bundle.
I have Time Matters and Billing Matters, but am no longer using the Billing Matters functionality.
Can I renew my Annual Maintenance Plan for Time Matters only?
Yes. You can request an Annual Maintenance Plan for Time Matters only. However, please note that we will
adjust our records to record that your firm has discontinued use of Billing Matters and the Time
Matters-only Annual Maintenance Plan you paid for will be entered into our customer database. Once your
firm has initiated this change, any future version upgrades or reactivations will be provided for Time
Matters only.
If you previously had Time Matters and Billing Matters and elect to upgrade only Time Matters, previously billing and accounting data from Billing Matters will no display; however, your old Billing Matters data will remain in place and will not be harmed. In this event, if you wish to later reinstate Billing Matters, you will need to repurchase Billing Matters at the new customer price for the same number of user licenses for Time Matters and Billing Matters.
I am currently on an Annual Maintenance Plan but want to upgrade from Professional Edition to
Enterprise Edition. Is this covered by my Annual Maintenance Plan?
No, there are separate Annual Maintenance Plan pricing for Time Matters (Time Matters Professional and
Time Matters Enterprise) and PCLaw (PCLaw and PCLaw Pro). You can purchase an "edition upgrade" to move
to the Time Matters Enterprise or PCLaw Pro Editions separately from the Annual Maintenance Plan. First
purchase your Annual Maintenance Plan for Time Matters Enterprise or PCLaw, which will entitle you to
the latest version (currently 9.0), then upgrade your edition to move from Time Matters 9.0 Professional
to Time Matters 9.0 Enterprise, or from PCLaw 9.0 to PCLaw Pro 9.0.
Can I access Service Releases if I am not on an Annual Maintenance Plan?
Yes. You can download the latest service release from our Service Center for those software versions
LexisNexis supports. If you want to upgrade to the current version; however, you must have a current
Annual Maintenance Plan.
Can I just buy a version upgrade if I don't want a maintenance and support plan?
No, the Annual Maintenance Plan is the version upgrade plan.

PCLaw™
What is the difference between PCLaw Standard and PCLaw Pro?
PCLaw Standard is designed to service firms with up to 9 timekeepers. If your firm has more than
9 timekeepers or exceeds 9 timekeepers you will need to purchase or upgrade to PCLaw Pro. Both
editions offer the same core billing and accounting capabilities. PCLaw Pro is designed for
larger-scale firms that need options smaller firms typically don't, such as check and bill
requisition, major client grouping, lawyer and matter budgeting and some extended reporting. PCLaw
Pro may also be implemented with a Microsoft® SQL database for optimal performance and data integrity.
In all cases, clients must purchase 10 or more licenses to be eligible for PCLaw Pro.
What is the difference between Time Matters Professional Edition and Time Matters Enterprise
Edition?
The Professional Edition is a full-featured, multi-user application that allows your entire firm
to manage critical client and matter information. Professional is designed for firms that need the
full set of practice management features but do not have the volume of data to require an SQL
database. Customers can upgrade to the Enterprise version when their practice requires it.
The Enterprise Edition includes the functionality of Time Matters Professional with the scalability and performance gains of a Microsoft® SQL database. Data-intensive firms will benefit most from Enterprise with quick access to large volumes of information. Enterprise can also be used in tandem with World Server Edition to provide remote access via a browser.
How do I determine how many users I need?
There is no limit to the number of computer workstations the application itself can be installed on.
Time Matters: Time Matters is sold by concurrent users, or the number of users that can access the application at one time. This means that you will need to decide how many users will be logged into the software at one time. This will be the number of users you will order.
PCLaw: To determine how many licenses you need, a simple exercise is to count the number of unique time keepers you will need (attorneys, paralegals, clerks, etc), then count the number of staff members who may need to be actively working with the PCLaw software at any given point during the day. Typically the higher of these two numbers reflects the appropriate number of licenses that should be purchased.
What is the difference between a User and a Timekeeper?
A Timekeeper is someone whose time is tracked in the software (anyone with billable hours). A User
refers to a person using the software.
What is a Series?
Series type determines the online documentation, sample data and default setup. If you are installing
software in a law firm, choose the legal series; accounting firms should choose the accounting series
and all other businesses should choose the business series. Software functionality is the same for
all Series.
