Software Policies

License Agreement & Limited Warranty
Lexis® Front Office powered by Time Matters®, Lexis® Back Office powered by Billing Matters® and Lexis® Back Office powered by PCLaw™ software is sold pursuant to the LexisNexis software license agreement and limited warranty. Satisfaction Guarantee
Lexis Front Office powered by Time Matters, Lexis Back Office powered by Billing Matters and Lexis Back Office powered by PCLaw software include a 60 day money back guarantee starting from the date of purchase. Adding user licenses or changing editions does NOT extend or restart the Satisfaction Guarantee period.

Technical Support

New Purchases: Purchasers of software via a one time license fee receive 60 days of live answer technical support from date of purchase. Purchasers of software via subscription receive live answer technical support for the duration of the subscription.

Version or Edition Upgrades or Adding New Users: Purchasers of software via a one time license fee receive 30 days of installation related technical support from date of purchase. Purchasers of software via subscription receive live answer technical support for duration of subscription.

Software Activation or Reactivation Required

The software is shipped fully activated to the initial purchaser. Periodically you will need to reactivate the software either by telephone or online to prevent software interruption. For example, software reactivation is required at the end of the 60-day Satisfaction Guarantee period. During the time between notification and reactivation, the software is fully functional. If you do not reactivate the software within the reactivation period, you will not be able to access the software; however, all data will be preserved in the software until such time as you reactivate. Returns and Refunds

Purchasers of software via a one time license fee: During the Satisfaction Guarantee time period, customers are eligible for a refund of the full purchase price of the Software (not including shipping & handling or any printed technical manual charges) for first time customers. Please note that no refunds will be issued if you have previously returned any version of the software or if you have reactivated the software. To receive a refund, you must call 800-328-2898 or 919-467-1221 for a Return Authorization (RA) number. A dated receipt proving purchase may be required if Software was not purchased directly from LexisNexis. Upon receipt of the returned software pursuant to a RA number, the refund will be processed within 30 days.

Purchasers of software via subscription: Please consult your contract or contact your account representative for specific subscription information.

Product Licensing and Pricing

Software licensing and pricing is based on the customer’s current product version, edition and/or number of users. Discount pricing is offered on software or user changes provided that the customer maintains the same edition and number of users. For example, if you upgrade your software and do not maintain your current number of licensed users, edition, or product licensing type (Lexis Front Office/Back Office vs. Lexis Front Office only) all rights are lost for the previous users/versions/editions and any future purchases will be based on the most current licensed version, edition and number of users.
